Windows 7: The New NT?

Posted by: Ian Wright in General Business on July 08, 2009

Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that I've been evaluating Windows 7 for the past week or so and love it! I am running a beta copy, so it isn't the finished product and there have been a couple of hiccups, but that is to be expected. The reason I was prompted to try this version (I usually try to avoid beta operating systems) was because of Mr. Paul Thurrott (http://www.winsupersite.com/). I have always followed his site as it's chock full of information about upcoming products from Microsoft. He had nothing but great things to say about Windows 7 so I made the plunge. Here I am today a week later and still running with it. There was a specific article which really got me though and I'd like to share a paragraph from it:

And then there's Windows 7. Sure, it looks like a prettier version of Windows Vista. But it's small and fast, usable and secure. It is the first version of Windows, perhaps ever, that I can recommend wholeheartedly, and without reservation, to virtually anyone. It is the first version of Windows since, well, NT, that I'm proud to use and point out to others, sure that there isn't anything better out there, from Microsoft or elsewhere. This is quite a turnaround.

Powerful words comparing the new Windows 7 to Windows NT. It made me switch. Here is a link to the whole article: http://www.winsupersite.com/win7/win7_nt.asp

And here's all the information you need to test drive Windows 7 for yourself: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/download.aspx

Enjoy!
