MSI Announces Microsoft Office 2007 Courses

MSI Services, Inc. is pleased to announce the first of many new courses for the newly released Microsoft Office 2007. On Tuesday, June 19th, MSI will host Microsoft Word 2007 Level 1 from 8:15am to 12pm. Our course is approximately four hours in length and all of our instruction is led by certified instructors in Microsoft Office. All of our courses are hands-on, so students can achieve a real-world sense of how to best integrate these programs into your work or personal use.
In our Microsoft Word 2007 Level 1 course, we will be covering such topics as Word basics, editing and formatting text, working with paragraphs and pages, templates and styles, and more! The new version of Microsoft Office sports a brand new interface which streamlines the entire user experience. Students will be greatly pleased with the new and exciting ways to be productive using the Microsoft Office 2007 family.

MSI Announces Director Nomination

Ron Vreeland, Director of Training Services for MSI Services, Inc. has recently been nominated for the Training and Workplace Development Award through the Sussex County Economic Development Partnership, Inc. As a direct result of Ron's efforts in 2006 and 2007, MSI Services not only added an educational division that employs three but also sought and received its private vocational school approval and designation through the State of New Jersey. Under this vocational program, MSI Services, Inc. now provides training to clients through the state's One Stop Career Centers. Through Ron's tireless work with the staff of the Sussex, Warren and Morris counties, MSI Services, Inc. now averages seven vocational students each month at its training and testing center located in Stanhope, NJ.
The awards will be designated at a special awards luncheon hosted by the Sussex County Economic Development Partnership on May 30th. Good luck Ron!

MSI Services Vocational Program Update

This month we have six students attending our vocational training program, MOS Certification +. Many of our students are initially challenged by the curriculum because of the large amount of new concepts we cover, but we foresee great potential for this new group! They are very determined and dedicated. We also recently had a representative from Primetime personnel visit with us and conduct a resume workshop with our students. This was a very fun and informative workshop: our students got some great insight on building resumes for today’s job market. We will be applying this information to build some fantastic resumes in the weeks to come. All in all, so far our vocational course for the month of May is shaping up to be a hard-working and productive group.

MSI Services Offers Weekend Excel Class

This past Saturday, MSI Services was happy to offer a special weekend class by popular demand. The course we offered was Microsoft Excel 2003 Level 1. We spent about four hours covering concepts that are vital for those of us who use Excel in a business environment. Some of the topics MSI typically covers while Training Excel Level 1: opening, creating and saving workbooks; working with specific data; formatting and editing worksheets; page setup and printing (a lot of students love this section...have you ever had difficulty trying to print something from within Excel?); formulas and functions. Because all of MSI's instruction is hands-on, students were learning concepts and immediately applying them in real-world situations in our classrooms.
Our Saturday class had a lot of fun learning some of the specific concepts related to formulas; we spent a lot of time going over absolute and relative cell references. Students often realize that by learning these new skills they can immediately improve their productivity while using Excel. Overall, this special course was a success on many different levels.
MSI Services, Inc. has a regular course schedule throughout the work week that you can take advantage of. From time to time, we offer special classes (evenings and weekends) to help meet specific demand from our corporate and individual clients.
