MSI Services partners with Lenovo

MSI Services, Inc. today announced it has become a reseller of Lenovo Personal Computer Products. Lenovo was the manufacturer of the IBM ThinkPad and ThinkCentre PC lines for a number of years before acquiring IBM's Personal Computer Division in May of 2005. That purchase propelled Lenovo into the number 3 spot of the largest PC manufacturers in the world, behind Dell and HP.
MSI's decision to carry the Lenovo line is based on offering alternatives. "Some clients and prospective clients come to us for a complete solution and don't have many preconceived notions of what brands are best. They are really buying MSI, its recommendations and its support programs" states General Manager Barry McGuire. "However, we do deal with an increasing number of clients that want alternatives". These people may choose not to buy a specific brand for a specific reason, and the reasons can be numerous. "I've had people lose money on a computer manufacturer's stock, or business clients who have had a bad experience at home with a particular brand, or even clients that like to be outside of the mainstream" states McGuire. "Lenovo allows us to offer a world-class product from a customer-focused manufacturer so we can deliver on our mission of providing stable, proven solutions" McGuire added.

MSI teams with Barracuda to stem the tide of Spam

MSI Services, Inc. is pleased to announce its acceptance by Barracuda Networks into the Barracuda Reseller Program. As an Authorized Reseller of Barracuda’s family of firewall products, MSI now offers their clients world-class protection from spam, spyware and viruses.
The decision to resell the product line came after the technical team at MSI purchased and installed a Barracuda Spam Firewall to protect their hosted e-mail servers. According to Frank Ableson of MSI, "We host e-mail for many of our clients, and they expect that the majority of spam will be stopped before it reaches their own networks. We had some success using software products to filter out the junk, but decided an anti-spam appliance was the best way to meet our client's expectations". The team researched a number of anti-spam solutions and, being most impressed with the Barracuda products, installed the device at their hosting facility. "It worked so well, we decided to add the Barracuda devices to our own product line" stated Ableson.
